That area: El Silencio, Dominical and sorroundings are just beautiful like Monteverde, but silent! Ahhh

Cicadas — now there's a flashback to the sounds of childhood summers in Sydney, a buzz that I miss to this day.

But, why, why, didn't you take me with you to this spa that reveres quiet. It's cause I'm a chatty Cathy, right?

This sounds like a very special place. Do you eat your meals in silence, I wonder? No matter, I want to go – very, very badly…
And a stone massage to the sounds of the rainforest? Heavenly.I'll bet rain never sounded so good.

This looks amazing! I'd never thought of visiting Costa Rica until my brother-in-law went a year or so ago and came back detailing his adventures. Sounds like I need to add it to my short list too. Thanks for the info!

Yes, Costa Rica is one of THE hot destinations nowadays; I'm here researching not one, not two, but three print assignments! One's on spas, one's on wedding destinations, and one's a piece for the general traveler. It seems Costa Rica now appeals to many types of traveler, not just the adventure/eco-traveler!

Nature–even in less awesome places like my backyard — is often louder than we realize. I'm often so lost in my head that I don't hear it. BUt when I stop and listen, it's amazing and beautiful. Man, I an ENVIOUS of your current location, tho.

El Silencio was a paradise! The employees were the most expert, friendly and thoughtful I have ever encountered. The visit was a soul renewing experience! I hope to return many times.
