A couple of months ago, I had a chance to visit the spectacular Four Seasons Wailea in Maui and meet with Dr. Mark Emerson, who holds the position of medical officer at the Four Seasons Spa.

Mark Emerson is an unusual addition to a resort spa; a quick look at his website attests to his deep expertise in natural health, nutrition, and optimum health and fitness.

Trained as a doctor of chiropractic, Mark has brought the latest treatments to the Spa at the Four Seasons Wailea, including i-Lipo, a cold laser treatment I tried myself with impressive results.

In addition, Mark is beginning a tradition of wellness retreats at the Four Seasons Wailea, kicking off with the spa’s first Wellness Immersion this May.

This six-night retreat, aptly titled Eat, Heal, and Learn, will offer participants a full-service health reboot, including a comprehensive health analysis that includes blood labs, personal nutritional consultation, and health risk assessment with Dr. Emerson.
